What the day looks like
Reservation request
Send your preferred date, number of guests, fishing experience, and rental needs by email, LINE, or phone.
Weather confirmation
The captain checks sea and weather conditions. The final departure decision is usually made by the evening before the trip.
Meet at Neya Port
Arrive at the port with enough time. You will fill in the passenger list and prepare for boarding.
Safety and fishing guidance
Wear your life jacket and listen to the captain’s guidance on safe movement, rods, reels, and fishing manners.
Enjoy Japan Sea fishing
Try local boat fishing such as tai-rubber, light jigging, or seasonal styles depending on the plan.
Return and payment
After returning to port, please pay the charter fee. You can also ask about ice, fish handling, and delivery options.

Many first-time guests are not sure what to do after catching fish. Showa Maru can discuss ice, simple fish handling, and shipping options for guests traveling within Japan.

Neya Port is a local fishing port. Public transportation can be limited, especially for early morning departures. We recommend coming by car, rental car, taxi, or arranging transport through your hotel or travel company.

Do I need fishing experience?
No. First-time guests are welcome. Please tell us in advance that you are new to boat fishing so we can guide you properly.
Can children join?
Children can join when sea conditions and the chosen plan are suitable. Please tell us the child’s age before booking.
Do you provide fishing gear?
Some tackle rental is available for certain fishing styles. Lures and details depend on the plan, so please ask before booking.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that can get wet, non-slip shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and seasonal protection against sun, wind, or cold.
What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. The trip may be cancelled or changed depending on wind, waves, and weather. The captain makes the final decision.
Can I pay by credit card?
Payment is usually made after the trip by cash. PayPay may also be available. Please ask in advance if you need another method.
Can I eat the fish on the boat?
No. We do not cook or serve meals on the boat. You can ask us about fish handling, take-home options, and possible partner restaurant arrangements.
Do you speak English?
